playful murals

Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, GOLD COAST AUSTRALIA

“We are so happy with it, thank you.”

This 3-day mural was my first venture into interactive, playable public art for me. I’m thoroughly excited at the possibilities of including moving elements and extending the scale. Passers-by were curious on the abstracted shapes and loved the idea that a swing was to be installed, as I was painting it.

Peregian Springs multisports play space, SUNSHINE COAST AUSTRALIA

“The kids absolutely love it.”

Kelly B, Peregian Springs local

With a brief to incorporate themes suitable for all ages and a variety of ball games, this 8-day mural is the centre of a highly used community recreational area. The design centres on adaptability with targets for games woven throughout. A delightfully surprising element of the paint was just how multi-generational the space was. Toddlers, school-aged kids, teens, parents and grandparents all had a chat with me as I worked – and each really considered the space their own. I loved getting to know the neighbourhood, made all the more special by my dad, who lives around the corner, coming out and helping me second-coat some elements <3.

dream project.

A first taste of my ideal project: a challenging paint, full colour, recreating my studio works and with another passionate colour lover as client! This 3-day paint was pure delight (with a lot of swimming carrying paint!). David wanted something bright, to inspire more fun and games in the pool for his friends and large, loving family when they come to visit. I’ve not met a home-owner who has as much fun with colour as David, I can’t wait to meet more! His words still come to mind easily, ‘If you’re going to be bold, you might as well go the whole way!”. What a dream!

All projects and enquiries start with a casual consultation. I’ll learn about your ideals, site dimensions, timeline, budget and intentions.
Then I’ll collate some information and options for you, we can go back and forth a couple of times and only when we’re all excited at what’s coming, will we start!
